Phalaenopsis Orchids come in a wide variety of colors and are loved because they are easy to grow, easily found in garden shops and garden centers, and carry long lasting flowers. How to care for your Phalaenopsis orchid? Phaleanopsis are able to bloom at any time during the year, and sometimes will bloom more than once and for many months at a time. They like to grow in sphagmum moss, or in mixes commonly found in garden centers. Provide good filtered light, and feed "weekly, weakly" with a balanced fertilizer. Schultz puts out a good orchid fertilizer and can be found in many places, sometime including the grocery store in the flower section. Phalaenopsis like to have a variance in daytime and night temperatures, and will typically spike when they receive at least two weeks of a 14 degree variance in their high and low temperature in a daily period. These orchids will reward you over and over again.
